Last Week!

This is my last week for class at Bradley and I am really starting to get upset. I have always been ready to graduate and now I just wish I could have more time here. I didn't like Bradley at first but I have learned to love it. Bradley has given me so many opportunities such as my internships at Caterpillar and Enterprise. These internships have been able to help me land a job after graduation and I am very thankful. It is going to be really hard leaving on May 19th and knowing that I won't be able to see some of my friends everyday. I have some of the best memories with them. I know that on senior walk and on graduation I will be a mess of tears. But I will just have to visit them at their homes or all meet back in Peoria for a reunion. The real world is really starting to scare me and I feel like I am not ready. But I am ready to start the rest of my life!!!

Last Few Weeks

So my last semester of college at Bradley is coming to an end, which is really hard to believe. Two weeks from today, I will be finished going to classes and only have to take my finals.  In a little over three weeks, I will be graduating. With that said, I feel like I have so much to do in those two weeks. I have a lot of work to do with school, such as senior projects and a bunch of project presentations. The worst part is that I have senioritis and don't want to do anything. Since I know I am leaving soon, I have been trying to spend as much time as I can with friends, but that is not helping me get my work done. Not to mention the stress I have about being done with school and having to grow up! I am excited to graduate, but also so nervous about the road ahead. I am lucky to have a job offer for when I graduate, but I still scared about being in the real world .I remember when I was a freshman and wanted to be done with school so bad, and now I just want a few more months at least! My plan is to make the best out of these next few weeks!

Job Search!

Being that I am graduating from Bradley in a little over a month, I have been on the job search a lot lately. I have an offer for a company after graduation, but I am still looking to see if I can find something that is closer to what I would like to do after graduation. I have been using Bradley's e-recruiting site, but haven't seen many good prospects lately. I have also been using Linkedin to search for companies and any jobs that they have listed. Indeed has become a great help as well.

I am wondering what sites you guys know of or have found that can help with my job search??

Sea World

Even since I was little I could remember being fascinated with the ocean. I can remember my first trip to Sea World where I decided my dream job was to be a whale trainer. Shortly after I realized that one would need to study marine biology and knew that this dream wouldn't come true due to the fact that I did not like my science classes. But I still had this fascination with the sea, and especially killer whales. So of course Sea World is one of my favorite places.

While in Texas, I had the opportunity to go to Sea World San Antonio. I hadn't been to Sea World in many years and so I was very excited. The first thing I did of course was see the Shamu show. It was great! Killer whales are beautiful animals and it is amazing to see how big they are and that they can be trained to do tricks. There was even a baby Shamu who was adorable and and you could tell was just learning how to do the tricks like the older ones. One thing I noticed was that the trainers no longer get in the water during the shows with the whales. I assumed this was from recent event that had happened, but it was sad to see that part of the show go. One of the reasons that I wanted to be a whale trainer when I was a kid was because of the bond that the trainers had with the whales. They are such huge animals and yet they listen and love the people who train them. I have always found that neat and felt that that feeling was taken away with them not in the water. But I totally understand that it is for their safety now.

I also got to see dolphins, a walrus, penguins, and many other sea creatures, but the killer whales were by far my favorite part! I had a great time at Sea World San Antonio and added some pictures of my sea adventure.

Texas

So this week is spring break and I have been spending my time in San Antonio, Texas!! It has been a great week so far!! I got to go to a restaurant called Texas Pride, which was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, Dives. There was great BBQ but also a great country band playing and line dancing! It was everything that I think when I think of Texas! It was a lot of fun! For St. Patrick's Day, I visited the river walk where they died the river green and had a parade down the river. The river walk is gorgeous and always a lot of fun and it was even better on St. Patrick's Day.  The rest of the time I have spent going to the pool and enjoying the 90 degree days!! It has been a fun spring break so far and I encourage everyone to visit Texas of they get a chance!!

Coffee

So recently I have started getting into drinking coffee, which is weird for me cause I have never really liked it. I have always been that person who goes to Starbucks and orders hot chocolate. But I have decided this new coffee addiction is due to be a second semester senior and having 6 classes, in which two are senior projects, doing a part time internship, as well as trying to keep up with my friends. But since I am new to the whole coffee craze... I am looking for new drinks to try!  I have been going to Starbucks lately and have been loving their Mocha, but I know there are many other kinds of coffee drinks out there that I should try. Any one have any of their favorite coffee drinks that they recommend? P.S. I am not a huge fan of  plain coffee :) Thanks and looking forward to trying new things!!!

Luke Bryan

On Tuesday Luke Bryan released his new album “Spring Break…Here to Party”. Being the big Luke Bryan fan that I am I downloaded the album from I-Tunes as soon as I woke up. After listening to all of the songs a couple of times now, it is becoming one of my favorite things. Haha

The album was released with fourteen new songs that all have to do with Spring Break.  Many of the songs are about drinking and having a good time on the beach. They are all fun loving songs and perfect for spring/ summer time. So far my favorite song off the album is “In Love with the Girl”, but I also like “Suntan City” and “Shore Thing”.

Everyone should check it out and see for themselves what a fun album this is! And hey spring break is right around the corner so this is the perfect album to listen to! J

Chi Brand Straighteners

I have naturally curly hair and have loved the straight hair look.  Over the years, I have tried many different products and straighteners. I had a hard time getting the look that I wanted till I tried the Chi Brand Straighteners about 7 years ago. Since then I have fallen in love with the Chi Straighteners and refuse to buy any other brand.

One of the best things about these products is that they give enough heat to get my curly hair perfectly straight. Other straighteners I have tried in the past would kind of straighten my hair but leave lots of frizz. Chi Straighteners get my hair perfectly straight and with hardly any frizz. Another thing I like about the products is that they are very durable. I have dropped mine a millions times and nothing has happened to it! One major benefit from Chi products is their long life time. I have had my current straightener for 3 years now and it still works perfectly. This helps make up for the $150 price tag because I have gotten my use out of it and therefore my money’s worth! They also make their products in cute colors which makes them a lot of fun. Mine has pink dots on it and it is adorable!

The only thing that I wish Chi would add to their straighteners is an automatic turn off button after a certain amount of time with no use. There have been times when I have accidentally left my straightener on. It would be great if they added something like this so that I wouldn’t have to worry. (They may already have this on some of their products. I’m not sure)

Overall, I would recommend a Chi Brand straightener to everyone I know. Over the years, I have influenced my younger sister and mother to use this brand and they have seen all of the same benefits that I have. Chi Straighteners are the only straighteners that I will purchase from now on! :)

My Favorite Eyeliner: Lorac Pro

So lately I have had a lot of compliments on my liquid eyeliner. So I thought that I would do a product review of Lorac Pro Cream Eyeliner.

Brand: Lorac Pro
Product: Cream Eyeliner
Price: $19.00
Store: Ulta

Pros:
What I love about this product is that it blends on my eye very easily. It is also easy to apply which  makes it easy to get a perfect line all the time. It doesn't run like any of my other eyeliners have and it last a super long time. Another benefit is that it is easy to remove so for if some reason you mess up, it is fast and easy to fix. I also love the way that the product is packaged. The eyeliner itself is located at the bottom and the brush is at the top. The small brush makes the eyeliner super easy to use!

Cons:
The only con that I have is that it does cost $19 from Ulta, but it has lasted me about 4 months and I am not even close to finishing the product.

Overall, I love this liquid eyeliner! I would definitely recommend this product to all of my friends.

Kittens!

Recently, I adopted two kittens named Asher and Finn and I thought that they needed to show up on my blog because they are two of my favorite things.

They are domestic short hair kittens who are 9 months old.Since they are still young, they are super active and lots of fun. This is my first experience with kittens and it has been a learning process. They are very curious and get into everything, but it is really cute to see them learn new things. I have found that by holding them a lot when I first got them, it has made them very social and apt to being held. It is really cool to see them each develop their own personalities. Finn is a shy kitten who loves to learn about new things. His favorite thing is to look out the window, especially when it snows. Then there is Asher who is the rambunctious one who just loves to play and voice his opinion.  These babies are so cute and I can't wait to see them grow up!

The Hunger Games

So I know the whole Hunger Game craze happened a while ago, and I will admit that I caught on very late. But I finished reading the whole series in December and ever sense I have been obsessed. I am not going to spoil the book for those who haven't read it, but I am just going to make some comments on my favorite thing about the trilogy.

For those who do know about the books,  Suzanne Collins writes as Katniss Everdeen who lives in a futuristic North America called Panem. There The Capitol controls everything that happens in the districts and each year broadcasts a game called The Hunger Games, where one male and female ages 12-18 are chosen in a lottery to fight and kill districts from the other districts till one is left.

I usually don't like futuristic type books, but I loved this one..... probably because there was a love story tied in and that was one of my favorite parts. The love triangle made me want to read more to find out what was going to happen and who Katniss was going to choose. I also loved that Katniss is a strong woman and thinks for herself. The books are well written and give lots of detail so that you can picture what is going on while reading. The plot to the story is great and lets the reader easily go through the books. ( I read all three in a week!! )

If you haven't read the book yet..... READ IT!! It is a great series and you will be hooked!

These are a few of my favorite things: Bow Clutch

So recently I received this lovely bow clutch (pictured above) from one of my good friends for a bridesmaid gift and it has become my “go to” bag. I take it absolutely everywhere!

The bow clutches are handmade and sold on Esty by Ash Humberstone.  The purses come in the cutest fabric and customers are even able customize their clutch! ( Check out the fox print... It is really cute!!!) One thing I love about it is that it is the perfect size to carry everything I need. Phone, wallet, keys, you name it!  But the clutch is also small enough to fit on your wrist and not get in your way. It is perfect for everyday activities or even a night on the town! They are also very durable and hold up to being on the go all the time.

I highly recommend these purses to everyone!! It is going to be my new gift idea for everyone!! It is absolutely one of my favorite things!

The purses can be found at The Humble Penguin.

MY FIRST BLOG POST

As part of a project in my social media class, I am responsible for keeping a blog. This blog is going to be the place where I post about anything I am in love with at the current moment! Here it goes :) Enjoy
