Sea World

Even since I was little I could remember being fascinated with the ocean. I can remember my first trip to Sea World where I decided my dream job was to be a whale trainer. Shortly after I realized that one would need to study marine biology and knew that this dream wouldn't come true due to the fact that I did not like my science classes. But I still had this fascination with the sea, and especially killer whales. So of course Sea World is one of my favorite places.

While in Texas, I had the opportunity to go to Sea World San Antonio. I hadn't been to Sea World in many years and so I was very excited. The first thing I did of course was see the Shamu show. It was great! Killer whales are beautiful animals and it is amazing to see how big they are and that they can be trained to do tricks. There was even a baby Shamu who was adorable and and you could tell was just learning how to do the tricks like the older ones. One thing I noticed was that the trainers no longer get in the water during the shows with the whales. I assumed this was from recent event that had happened, but it was sad to see that part of the show go. One of the reasons that I wanted to be a whale trainer when I was a kid was because of the bond that the trainers had with the whales. They are such huge animals and yet they listen and love the people who train them. I have always found that neat and felt that that feeling was taken away with them not in the water. But I totally understand that it is for their safety now.

I also got to see dolphins, a walrus, penguins, and many other sea creatures, but the killer whales were by far my favorite part! I had a great time at Sea World San Antonio and added some pictures of my sea adventure.

Texas

So this week is spring break and I have been spending my time in San Antonio, Texas!! It has been a great week so far!! I got to go to a restaurant called Texas Pride, which was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, Dives. There was great BBQ but also a great country band playing and line dancing! It was everything that I think when I think of Texas! It was a lot of fun! For St. Patrick's Day, I visited the river walk where they died the river green and had a parade down the river. The river walk is gorgeous and always a lot of fun and it was even better on St. Patrick's Day.  The rest of the time I have spent going to the pool and enjoying the 90 degree days!! It has been a fun spring break so far and I encourage everyone to visit Texas of they get a chance!!

Coffee

So recently I have started getting into drinking coffee, which is weird for me cause I have never really liked it. I have always been that person who goes to Starbucks and orders hot chocolate. But I have decided this new coffee addiction is due to be a second semester senior and having 6 classes, in which two are senior projects, doing a part time internship, as well as trying to keep up with my friends. But since I am new to the whole coffee craze... I am looking for new drinks to try!  I have been going to Starbucks lately and have been loving their Mocha, but I know there are many other kinds of coffee drinks out there that I should try. Any one have any of their favorite coffee drinks that they recommend? P.S. I am not a huge fan of  plain coffee :) Thanks and looking forward to trying new things!!!

Luke Bryan

On Tuesday Luke Bryan released his new album “Spring Break…Here to Party”. Being the big Luke Bryan fan that I am I downloaded the album from I-Tunes as soon as I woke up. After listening to all of the songs a couple of times now, it is becoming one of my favorite things. Haha

The album was released with fourteen new songs that all have to do with Spring Break.  Many of the songs are about drinking and having a good time on the beach. They are all fun loving songs and perfect for spring/ summer time. So far my favorite song off the album is “In Love with the Girl”, but I also like “Suntan City” and “Shore Thing”.

Everyone should check it out and see for themselves what a fun album this is! And hey spring break is right around the corner so this is the perfect album to listen to! J
