Last Week!

This is my last week for class at Bradley and I am really starting to get upset. I have always been ready to graduate and now I just wish I could have more time here. I didn't like Bradley at first but I have learned to love it. Bradley has given me so many opportunities such as my internships at Caterpillar and Enterprise. These internships have been able to help me land a job after graduation and I am very thankful. It is going to be really hard leaving on May 19th and knowing that I won't be able to see some of my friends everyday. I have some of the best memories with them. I know that on senior walk and on graduation I will be a mess of tears. But I will just have to visit them at their homes or all meet back in Peoria for a reunion. The real world is really starting to scare me and I feel like I am not ready. But I am ready to start the rest of my life!!!

Last Few Weeks

So my last semester of college at Bradley is coming to an end, which is really hard to believe. Two weeks from today, I will be finished going to classes and only have to take my finals.  In a little over three weeks, I will be graduating. With that said, I feel like I have so much to do in those two weeks. I have a lot of work to do with school, such as senior projects and a bunch of project presentations. The worst part is that I have senioritis and don't want to do anything. Since I know I am leaving soon, I have been trying to spend as much time as I can with friends, but that is not helping me get my work done. Not to mention the stress I have about being done with school and having to grow up! I am excited to graduate, but also so nervous about the road ahead. I am lucky to have a job offer for when I graduate, but I still scared about being in the real world .I remember when I was a freshman and wanted to be done with school so bad, and now I just want a few more months at least! My plan is to make the best out of these next few weeks!

Job Search!

Being that I am graduating from Bradley in a little over a month, I have been on the job search a lot lately. I have an offer for a company after graduation, but I am still looking to see if I can find something that is closer to what I would like to do after graduation. I have been using Bradley's e-recruiting site, but haven't seen many good prospects lately. I have also been using Linkedin to search for companies and any jobs that they have listed. Indeed has become a great help as well.

I am wondering what sites you guys know of or have found that can help with my job search??

Sea World

Even since I was little I could remember being fascinated with the ocean. I can remember my first trip to Sea World where I decided my dream job was to be a whale trainer. Shortly after I realized that one would need to study marine biology and knew that this dream wouldn't come true due to the fact that I did not like my science classes. But I still had this fascination with the sea, and especially killer whales. So of course Sea World is one of my favorite places.

While in Texas, I had the opportunity to go to Sea World San Antonio. I hadn't been to Sea World in many years and so I was very excited. The first thing I did of course was see the Shamu show. It was great! Killer whales are beautiful animals and it is amazing to see how big they are and that they can be trained to do tricks. There was even a baby Shamu who was adorable and and you could tell was just learning how to do the tricks like the older ones. One thing I noticed was that the trainers no longer get in the water during the shows with the whales. I assumed this was from recent event that had happened, but it was sad to see that part of the show go. One of the reasons that I wanted to be a whale trainer when I was a kid was because of the bond that the trainers had with the whales. They are such huge animals and yet they listen and love the people who train them. I have always found that neat and felt that that feeling was taken away with them not in the water. But I totally understand that it is for their safety now.

I also got to see dolphins, a walrus, penguins, and many other sea creatures, but the killer whales were by far my favorite part! I had a great time at Sea World San Antonio and added some pictures of my sea adventure.

Texas

So this week is spring break and I have been spending my time in San Antonio, Texas!! It has been a great week so far!! I got to go to a restaurant called Texas Pride, which was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, Dives. There was great BBQ but also a great country band playing and line dancing! It was everything that I think when I think of Texas! It was a lot of fun! For St. Patrick's Day, I visited the river walk where they died the river green and had a parade down the river. The river walk is gorgeous and always a lot of fun and it was even better on St. Patrick's Day.  The rest of the time I have spent going to the pool and enjoying the 90 degree days!! It has been a fun spring break so far and I encourage everyone to visit Texas of they get a chance!!
